DPS Bathinda organized it’s Annual Inter-School English Debate competition on August 26th, 2023. Prominent CBSE schools from Bathinda eagerly participated, infusing vibrant energy into the event, resulting in a resounding success. The aspiring youth of the nation are paving the way for the emergence of an educated and progressive society.

Each school fielded a trio of students from classes IX to XII, engaging in a spirited contest. The debate unfolded in three stages: Preliminary, Semi-Final, and the Grand Finale, each round centered around distinct topics.

The topics for debate encompassed:

1. War is not justified for any reason.
2. Issues on Earth are more significant than space exploration.
3. Skill-based education is more valuable than traditional academic learning.

In a display of eloquence and reasoning, students from all schools demonstrated their prowess in public speaking and critical thinking, filling their institutions with pride.

Ultimately, GGS Public School, Sangrur emerged as the triumphant team, and was adjusted ‘The Best Team’ and The Millennium School Bathinda secured the Runner-up rank in the competition. Miss Divyana from GGS Public School, Sangrur was also awarded as the ‘Persuasive Speaker’ of the event.

The event served as a conduit for students to exhibit their oratory finesse and engage in insightful discourse on contemporary matters. Principal Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini and Senior Mistress Mrs. Paramjeet Kingra shared their reflections on the event and accomplishments.

Once again, in the history of DPS Bathinda, the illustrious 6th edition of the Model United Nations event, titled ‘MUN Consortium’23’, unfolded its grandeur on the 26th and 27th of August in the year 2023. The commencement was graced by an eminent assembly comprising more than 10 esteemed educational institutions, alongside an impressive congregation of 210 delegates. This collective gathering resoundingly reiterated our unwavering dedication to the core principles underpinning the consortium—diplomacy, empathy, and the exchange of intellectual prowess.

Dignitaries, Advisors, and Esteemed Guests hailing from diverse schools and regions converged at Consortium’23. The conference’s overarching theme, “Progresses per Colloquium,” which translates to Progress through Dialogue, beautifully encapsulates the very essence of our shared endeavor.

This remarkable convergence of insightful deliberations fostered the creation of new bonds, paving the way for constructive metamorphosis. Every delegate enriched the conference’s esteemed atmosphere, representing a tapestry of youth from various cities and states, actively participating in a range of committees and cultural engagements.

The esteemed inaugural guest, Mr. Sudheer Singh Verma, Assistant Professor at the Department of South and Central Asian Studies, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, lent his academic finesse and profound comprehension of international relations, infusing the occasion with gravitas. The valedictory session was graced by the esteemed presence of Honorable Ms. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, MP from Bathinda, who lauded the students for their exceptional presentation and shared words of encouragement. She also felicitated the outstanding delegates from each committee.

Principal Jatinder Kumar Saini extended his sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Executive Board, Advisors, Educators, and the dedicated student cohort, whose relentless efforts culminated in the realization of this remarkable MUN event. A Glorious Moment for DPS Bathinda on August 10, 2023 as it welcomed Major Narinder Singh Waldiya, a distinguished Army officer adorned with the prestigious Bar II Sena Medal.

An enlightening session unfolded for the 11th and 12th-grade students, shedding light on the path to embrace the defense forces. Major Narinder Singh graciously shared his remarkable journey, imparting invaluable insights on attaining such honor and fostering patriotism as a devoted citizen.

The school extended its heartfelt gratitude, recognizing his commendable effort to inspire and guide the aspiring youth, thereby contributing to our nation’s youthful dynamism and prosperity.

Delhi Public School Bathinda hosted an enriching guest lecture on “The Significance of Sports” on August 4, 2023. The session was attended by students of classes XI and XII. The esteemed guest speaker, Ms. Kamalpreet Kaur, an exceptional Indian athlete from Punjab, made her mark by becoming the first Indian woman to surpass the 65m barrier in ‘Discus Throw’. Supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme, she exhibited her dedication and natural talent, achieving remarkable milestones such as becoming the U-18 and U-20 national performer in 2016. Her impressive national record-breaking throw of 65.06m at the 24th Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships in Patiala earned her a spot at the Tokyo Olympics. The primary objective of the lecture was to introduce students to the exciting domain of sports management—an interdisciplinary field demanding various skills and concepts related to the sports industry. Ms. Kamalpreet underscored the essential competency parameters applicable to sports management profiles and emphasized the significance of mentoring students on sports entrepreneurship and associative initiatives. The event culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the honorable Principal, Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini.

In the enchanting month of August, a wave of patriotic fervor sweeps across the land, igniting the profound sentiment of being a proud Indian. In jubilant celebration of India’s 77th Independence Day, a momentous assembly took center stage on August 14, 2023, hosted by the spirited members of Ravi House. The thematic essence “NATION FIRST, ALWAYS FIRST” infused every corner of the splendidly adorned stage, adorned with tricolored balloons, fluttering flags, and elegantly flowing ribbons.

Brimming with enthusiasm, the students embraced the chance to honor the spirit of unity that binds the nation. The assembly unfolded with the exploration of the essence of Freedom and Unity, eloquently followed by the resounding recitation of Gayatri Mantra, a harmonious community song, the exchange of enlightening thoughts, a solemn pledge, a glimpse into current events, and a glimpse of the weather ahead.

A spellbinding performance of classical dance graced the gathering, where girls and boys, bedecked in graceful attire, moved in captivating harmony, weaving a tale of patriotism that resonated deeply. The dance artistry was met with resounding appreciation, evoking an overwhelming sense of pride and joy in being an Indian.

In a touching tribute to the architects of our freedom struggle, students donned the personas of great freedom fighters, breathing life into history’s pages. Vidushi’s impassioned oratory aroused a sense of inspiration. The honorable principal Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini, graced the occasion with his presence, imparting the invaluable wisdom of responsible citizenship.

To cultivate a profound love for our homeland, an Inter-House Patriotic Group Singing Competition took place on August 11, 2023, catering to students of classes IV-VIII. This event provided a platform for young members of DPS to embrace their devotion to our motherland. The heartwarming rendition of patriotic songs showcased their unwavering affection for the nation, depicting themes that celebrated sacrifice, the nation’s beauty, its history, and acts of martyrdom. Adorned in theme-appropriate attire, the participants displayed their talents accompanied by a variety of instruments. Witnessing these young children rhythmically perform patriotic numbers left the audience spellbound and deeply moved by the captivating performances. The harmonious blend of voices and patriotic zeal enchanted everyone present. Concluding the event, the school’s principal, Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini, addressed the attendees, commending the dedication of music teachers along with the participants for putting up a splendid show.

In its pursuit to nurture leadership qualities among students, Delhi Public School Bathinda adorned the prestigious event of the Investiture Ceremony on August 7, 2023, with great enthusiasm and energy. This significant day heralded the conferment of responsibilities upon deserving young talents, empowering them to lead their school with dedication, self-assurance, and skill. Annually, a ‘Junior Student Council’ is established, granting young minds the experience of being integral to the administrative body. The ceremony aimed to officially appoint this academic year’s leaders, entrusted with guiding both curricular and co-curricular pursuits, fostering teamwork, and organizing successful innovative events. Dignified by Principal Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini, the badge of honor was bestowed upon newly elected representatives from classes IV and V, followed by the solemn oath administered by Coordinator Ms. Anusandeep Kaur. Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl, House Captains, and Vice Head Captains pledged their commitment to earnestly uphold the institution’s honor and prestige. The Principal extended congratulations to the newly appointed members of the Junior Student Council, recognizing their readiness to shoulder entrusted responsibilities. He urged them to embody their words through actions and uphold a harmonious synergy between the two.”

Delhi Public School Bathinda celebrated the Prize Distribution Ceremony for the academic session 2023-24 with great enthusiasm and dignity on August 1st and 2nd, 2023. The event aimed at highlighting the importance of problem-solving skills and the qualities of an achiever in tomorrow’s leaders.

During the ceremony, a number of students were honored for their remarkable achievements throughout their journey at DPS. Parents were invited as viewers, witnessing their children receive the well-deserved recognition.

Students were bestowed with various titles based on their accomplishments:

• Subject Proficiency (Grade 4 to 11): 500 students were recognized for securing 90% or above in any subject.
• Scholar Badge (Grade 4 to 11): 351 students received the badge for securing a minimum of 80% in all subjects and the minimum aggregate of 80%.
• Blue Blazer (Grade 7 to 11): 48 students earned the badge for receiving the Scholar Badge for three consecutive years.
• Star Scholar (Grade 8 to 11): 28 students were honored for receiving the Scholar Badge for four consecutive years.
• Double Star Scholar (Grade 9 and 10): 25 students received the badge for receiving the Scholar Badge for five consecutive years.
• Maroon Blazer (Grade 10): 5 students were honored for receiving the Scholar Badge for six consecutive years.
• Maroon Neck Tie (Grade 11): 3 students earned it for receiving the Scholar Badge for seven consecutive years.
• Star Performer (Grade 1 to 3): 210 students were recognized for their outstanding performance.
• 100% Attendance (Grade 1 to 11): 8 students received recognition for not missing the school for even a single day.

The Principal, Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini, and the Senior Mistress, Mrs. Paramjeet Kingra, along with the entire senior teaching wing, presented badges and certificates to all the students.

In his motivating speech, the Principal shared that DPS takes pride in honoring its esteemed students for their academic achievements. He also celebrated the school’s two decades of fame and glory, capturing beautiful memories through a short film shared with the parents. The Principal extended congratulations to the staff members for their contribution to the success of this event, emphasizing that DPS Bathinda is known for its excellence, consistently proven by its outstanding students and teachers.

The exhilarating inter-house basketball competition was held on two action-packed days at DPS Bathinda, i.e., 25th & 27th of July, 2023.

The tournament bore witness to a series of electrifying matches, with each team displaying remarkable determination to score those crucial baskets. Amidst the intensity of the Knockout Gaming format, every house showcased their unwavering commitment to excel.

The basketball court of DPS Bathinda was ablaze with enthusiasm, excitement, and a jubilant atmosphere.

Team DPS wholeheartedly congratulated the victorious house, acknowledging the grand success that wouldn’t have been achievable without the unwavering support and cooperation of our authorities and the Sports department.

These sports activities not only help in personality development but also aid in identifying individual strengths in specific sports, opening up new horizons for the participants. We hope that our basketball team will continue to strive for excellence and set even higher goals to achieve in the future.

On Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, Delhi Public School hosted a captivating and vibrant “FRENCH FEST,” dedicated to celebrating the richness of the French language and culture. Students from grades 4th to 8th were enthusiastic participants in a diverse array of activities that made the event truly special.

Among the highlights of the fest, around 30 students participated in a heartfelt French prayer, infusing the atmosphere with a sense of unity and serenity. The artistic talents of 40 students from different classes came together to deliver a mesmerizing group song, elegantly rendered in the enchanting French language.

The event showcased an educational and entertaining side as well, with students from various classes delivering informative PowerPoint presentations on French history, food, monuments, sports, cinema, and culture. Their creative approach ensured that the essence of each aspect was captivatingly conveyed, engaging the audience throughout.

A remarkable and thoughtfully-planned roleplay in French language graced the stage, designed to cater to both English speakers and French learners alike. This clever touch enabled everyone present to appreciate the content of the performance, fostering a sense of inclusivity and understanding.

The fest did not merely focus on the academic aspects, but also provided a glimpse into the personal experiences of students and the significance of learning the French language. These heartwarming anecdotes acted like cherries on the cake, motivating and inspiring all attendees.

The grand finale of the event was an electrifying fashion show, where nearly 40 students confidently endorsed fashion brands from France, adding a touch of glamour and style to the occasion.

The French Fest provided a wonderful opportunity for every French learner to actively participate and engage in something meaningful and enjoyable. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed individuals, including Mr. J.K. Saini (Principal), Mrs. Paramjeet Kingra (Sr. Mistress), and Mrs. Anusandeep Kaur (Coordinator), who all contributed to making the event a resounding success.

Overall, the “FRENCH FEST” at Delhi Public School proved to be a delightful celebration of language, culture, and creativity, leaving a lasting impact on all those involved.

The summer camp at DPS Bathinda commenced on June 1st, 2023, marked by the enthusiasm and energy of DPS students and those from other schools alike.

This captivating camp encompassed a wide array of activities, including Robotics, a Creative Fun Camp, and an assortment of sports such as Hockey, Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, Yoga, Swimming, and coding classes. Moreover, there were engaging sessions like Food without Fire, ensuring the holidaying children could learn new skills. From dance, art, and craft, to theatre, yoga, music, and exploration in science, the camp encouraged excellence in writing, offering a spectrum of options for the eager participants.

On 9th June 2023, Principal Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini took a delightful tour of the summer camp, witnessing the children’s happiness and their eagerness to learn new things. He actively engaged with the children, participating in various activities and spending quality time with them. Our school maintains high standards and strives for excellence.

The Investiture Ceremony of Delhi Public School Bathinda for the academic session 2023-24 was held on May 26, 2023, with great enthusiasm and dignity. The ceremony aimed to instill in the future leaders the essential qualities of problem-solving skills and effective leadership, paving the way for tomorrow’s success.
Amidst an atmosphere brimming with excitement, Srija was appointed as the President, Yashbeer Singh as the Head Boy, and Aaina as the Head Girl of the school.
A dedicated team of 16 elected students, including Secretaries for Cultural, Sports, Discipline, Academic, Clubs & Literary, along with Captains and Vice Captains of the Houses, took an oath to uphold Loyalty, Truth, and Honour, and to abide by the school rules and the guiding principle of ‘Service before Self.’
In his address to the gathering, Principal Mr. J.K. Saini inspired the students by highlighting the significance of the school council, emphasizing that it provides a meaningful platform for students to develop various aspects of their lives in a gracious manner and motivated the students by quoting:
